St. Petersburg Times story got the Schuyler story wrong?

Supposedly, the St. Petersburg Times story that surfaced yesterday claiming that two of the guys in the boating accident removed their life jackets to float away to sea and the other (Will Bleakley) removed his jacket to swim to the light are inaccurate.

The story that Schuyler told Bleakley's father is that Schuyler hung on to Bleakley for 36 hours until he lost consciousness and died. He did not remove his jacket to swim to lights that the St. Petersburg Times reported.

If you are going to make a mistake, this isn't the story to do it with. Wow.
