Nobody interested in Leftwich?

Most people, Byron Leftwich included, expected him to attract some attention on the first weekend of free agency from teams in need of a starting QB. It seemed obvious that teams like the Lions, Bucs, and Jets would be interested in talking to him.

That said, not one team has shown any interest in the former 1st round pick. Leftwich played extremely well when he had to last season in Pittsburgh.

Selfishly speaking, I hope that Leftwich's bad fortune becomes the Steelers gain and they can lock him up with a long-term contract to be Ben Roethlisberger's backup.

We know that Ben takes a lot of hits with is style of play. Couple his style of play with a completely re-signed offensive line that has difficulty blocking and we have an immediate need for a capable backup QB. Leftwich is that guy and I would love to see a 3 yr, 4-5 million dollar deal to keep him in Pittsburgh.
